Solvay Introduces New High-Temperature Material Technyl® REDx

Solvay introduces a new high-temperature-resistant polyamide 66 material, Technyl REDx intelligent molecular material. The material shows superior performance over traditional specialty polymers in demanding thermal management systems, especially in the automotive industry.

In order to meet the challenge of overcoming the limitations caused by the temperature and pressure increase encountered during the miniaturization of the engine, Solvay has developed Technyl REDx intelligent molecular materials with patented self-reinforcing technology in the polymer. This new technology remains inactive during injection molding of automotive parts, with high fluidity comparable to PA66. During the use of automobiles, high temperatures will activate these intelligent technologies, resulting in rapid cross-linking, making the mechanical properties of the product far exceed the original level.

According to reports, Technyl REDx can be processed and molded at energy-saving mold temperatures within 100 ° C. The production process is simple and the cost is low. The aging test at 220 ° C for more than 3000 hours showed its excellent retention, tensile properties improved by more than 50%, and no breakage occurred.
