Evonik Industries Group recently launched two non-silicone flow-leveling additives, TEGO® Flow 375 and TEGO® Flow 460 N, specifically developed for canning and coil coatings. These two products have been marketed globally and are suitable for direct contact with food (FDA 175.300), thereby reducing the complexity of coating manufacturers and making them widely used. Coating manufacturers can use the same additive for more diverse applications instead of using multiple different additive products.
TEGO® Flow 375 and TEGO® Flow 460 N make a huge contribution to meeting the high demands of global production and canning and coil coating products. The quality and appearance of the product can greatly influence the end-user decision. "Both products are silicone-free, which eliminates the effects of contamination and shrinkage, ensuring smooth production operations," explains Kirstin Schulz, director of marketing for industrial coatings. In addition, the flow and leveling additive has thermal stability and gives the coating a durable, high-quality appearance.
TEGO® Flow 375 is particularly compatible with solvent-based formulations and achieves optimal gloss values.
TEGO® Flow 460 N also has defoaming properties, so there are no defects during application, especially in pigmented formulations.
TEGO® Flow 375 and TEGO® Flow 460 N have very good adhesion and wetting properties in multi-coat topcoats. Both products can be used in all coatings without affecting the spray process.
TEGO® Flow 375 and TEGO® Flow 460 N are free of aromatic hydrocarbons.
