The stainless steel + carbon steel composite material was successfully rolled off the assembly line.

The stainless steel + carbon steel composite material has the material characteristics of different steel grades. It not only meets the high strength and processing performance requirements of carbon steel, but also has the excellent corrosion resistance, wear resistance and aesthetics of stainless steel. At the same time It has made up for the shortcomings of short service life caused by insufficient corrosion resistance of carbon steel, and also saved precious metal resources such as chromium and nickel. It is a new type of material with higher cost performance, more efficiency, low carbon and environmental protection, and has a broad market application prospect .


TGJT's R&D team has developed more than 20 types of stainless steel and carbon steel and the feasibility of their combination according to the end use, and determined the composite raw materials. More than ten process routes were designed and investigated and demonstrated one by one, excluding routes such as complex assembly process, long process, and low yield rate, and finally three relatively cost-effective process routes were determined. Through close cooperation of all units, the rolling of the first stainless steel + carbon steel asymmetric composite hot-rolled coil was successfully completed within 100 days of project confirmation.

TGJT is a leading manufacturer of metal matrix composites in China. The copper + stainless steel composite panels developed by TGJT have been successfully applied to the International Thermonuclear Fusion Experimental Reactor Project (ITER Project for short).
