TWYJ has always been the main supplier of Apple's iPhone camera, and this year it also provided camera modules for VR headsets such as Sony and Oculus. Facebook's recently launched Ray-Ban Stories, the first smart glasses developed in cooperation with Ray-Ban, also use the TWYJ camera.
Although TWYJ's attitude is low-key, the chairman of the company has previously stated that in order to diversify risks, it is actively developing products such as VR/AR and car lenses, and predicts that "VR lens shipments are expected to increase in 2022." It is expected that three to five years later, The revenue ratio of non-mobile phone lenses can be increased to 30-40%, highlighting the company's ambitions in the VR/AR field.
On the other hand, TWYJ also announced a few days ago that it plans to spend US$45 million to build a new production base in Xiamen, China.
TWDL Optoelectronics Technology and TWYJ will cooperate with Apple to develop 2Q22 AR/MR HMD cameras, and TWYJ’s business focus will be on the Fresnel lens used in AR/MR. Among them, TWYJ will win 50% of Apple's VR camera module orders.
