In order to break the monopoly of foreign core technologies, SDHM has established a R&D team since 2012. After thousands of trials, it has finally overcome this problem.
In 2014, SDHM was commissioned by GE in the United States to begin research and development of Marine Drilling Riser Systems (MDRS). GE has put forward a large number of stringent requirements, the most stringent of which is to require SDHM to accept the welding procedure qualification established by GE experts.
In July 2016, the test piece developed by SDHM began to enter the pressure test stage. The R&D team will simulate the seabed situation at a depth of 9,144 meters, and the riser needs to withstand a pressure of 150 MPa. "For example, for a riser of more than 15 meters in length, the error after welding cannot exceed 3 mm, and it must pass a pressure test of more than 150 MPa.
"We usually complete the welding qualification test of ordinary products within a week, and it is a performance pass. However, the Marine Drilling Riser Systems project lasted more than a year and we did more than 200 welding tests. The reason is that the qualified performance range is very narrow. In order to meet the high-precision processing requirements, the company has independently developed more than a dozen special CNC equipment and more than 20 special tooling, and built an automated production line.
On May 18, 2017, with the last Marine Drilling Riser Systems (MDRS) truck leaving Halma, the price of deep-water risers in the international market dropped by nearly 50%, completely breaking the foreign technology monopoly. SDHM has thus become China's first and currently the only company with the ability to produce complete sets of offshore oil and gas engineering equipment functional skids, helping China's deep-sea area oil and gas field development, and since then carved the mark of "Made in China" in the world's marine riser field.
At present, SDHM independently The developed deep-sea drilling riser was successfully applied to the Offshore Oil 982 drilling platform, filling the gap in this field in China.
The successful research and development of Riser Systems for deep-sea drilling has increased the visibility of SDHM in the deep-sea industry and laid the foundation for the development of other products in the future deep-sea projects. Today, the SDHM offshore oil and gas project has 1,200 employees and an output value of nearly 2 billion yuan. The product field involves various types of deep-sea oil extraction equipment and functional oil and gas processing equipment. Nearly 90% of the products are exported to more than 40 Europe, the United States, Asia, Australia, etc. The product applications cover deep sea drilling and production, offshore platform oil and gas processing, petrochemicals and other fields in various countries and regions.
