Recently, the ultra-low temperature toughness wear-resistant steel with a tensile strength of 1300 MPa developed by HGHG High Performance Steel Technology Corporation was successfully delivered to a European high-end heavy truck manufacturer.

This is China's first export of the highest-grade ultra-low temperature toughness wear-resistant steel for heavy truck special vehicles, which can meet the needs of vehicle service and processing in extremely cold areas at -40°C. The elongation rate of the product is ≥18%, the Brinell hardness is 400-420HBW, and the low temperature impact toughness of -40℃ is ≥35J, which fully meets the standard requirements of customer-specific dump truck bodies.

Wear-resistant steel plates are widely used in key components of machinery and equipment that require high strength and good wear resistance in industries such as special vehicle manufacturing, engineering machinery, mining and transportation.

The strength of wear-resistant steel products is 1100-2000MPa, and there is usually no mandatory requirement for toughness. However, ordinary wear-resistant steel products manufactured as special car bodies have -20°C low-temperature impact toughness around 17-30J. When encountering impacts from low-temperature environments and hard rocks, the materials are easily brittle and fractured, shortening the service life of the vehicle and increasing user costs. Therefore, low-loss wear-resistant steels with higher toughness and higher wear resistance are more and more favored by customers.

The wear-resistant steel R&D team of HGHG Technology Center aims at market demand and strengthens technical docking with customers. For customer-specific dump trucks serving in cold areas, the car body requires strict requirements such as whole plate bending of raw materials and U-shaped bending, especially the requirements. The actual low temperature impact toughness of -40℃>24J, a detailed research and development plan for ultra-low temperature toughness and wear-resistant steel NM400E-TL was formulated.

R&D personnel have studied more than 20 alloy elements, designed nearly 50 chemical composition systems, and determined the optimal composition system through numerical simulation and boundary condition calculation; optimized and designed special rolling and heat treatment processes, and flexibly controlled "quenching" +The strength and low-temperature toughness of "tempered" martensitic wear-resistant steel successfully solved the industry problem of low toughness caused by high hardness and high hardness of wear-resistant steel products, and finally ensured the high quality of the products.
