Eastman unveiled the latest automotive and architectural coatings solutions at ChinaCoat 2016

The increasing pace of urbanization has made the Chinese market attract more and more multinational giants. At this year's Coatings Show, Eastman showcased its latest solutions for automotive and architectural coatings to meet the different needs of customers. These solutions include Eastman Tetrashield ™ protective resin systems, Eastman Optifilm ™ Enhancers 400 (OE400) film-forming additives, and Eastman Advantex ™, Eastman Vantex ™ -T amine neutralizers, and more.

Eastman Tetrashield ™ protective resin systems are designed to improve coating performance, reduce environmental pollution, and optimize coating processes for automotive suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) through high solids and low solvent systems. This innovative system increases glass transition temperature while maintaining excellent solubility. Compared to traditional formulations, coating formulations using the Eastman Tetrashield ™ protective resin system are superior in weather resistance and scratch resistance.

In addition, due to high solids content, increased production efficiency, and reduced coatings, formulations containing Eastman Tetrashield ™ protective resin systems also perform well in terms of environmental sustainability. Compared to multi-coat formulation systems, Volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions can be reduced by 10% -15%.

Eastman Optifilm ™ Enhancer 400 (OE400) is a low-odor film-forming additive that is compatible with many emulsions and does not generate VOCs. OE400 is suitable for all types of architectural coatings. It can also be used as the sole film-forming aid for products with low odor or very low VOC interior wall coatings, and is easy to operate during the production process.

The acquisition of Temenko brought new products to Eastman. In the field of coating additives, the addition of amine neutralizers has enriched Eastman's product portfolio. Eastman Advantex ™ is a multifunctional amine neutralizer that can reduce the odor of architectural coatings while providing excellent color spreading, emulsion stability, and water resistance. Eastman Vantex ™-T is a tertiary amine additive with extremely low vapor pressure and versatility that helps formulators develop high-quality, environmentally friendly coating products with lower odor and lower VOC .

Eastman held a seminar on innovative technologies for automotive refinish paints, inviting experts in relevant policies and regulations and industry opinion leaders to interpret the latest policy standards for coatings formulators and OEMs and explore market trends. In response to the problem of VOC emissions, Eastman also has corresponding countermeasures. Eastman specialty ketone solvent products have the characteristics of high solubility and low density. Low density means that coatings contain less solvent, resulting in lower VOC emissions.

In addition to the refinish paint technology seminar for the automotive industry, Eastman also organized a technical seminar dedicated to domestic small and medium formula manufacturers to share the company's latest research and development achievements in the field of architectural coatings.
