LANXESS unveiled China Coat 2016 with highly effective and sustainable coating chemicals

The annual event of the Chinese coatings industry (China Coat 2016) was officially held in Guangzhou today.

China Coat has been held since 1996. This exhibition was held in Guangzhou China Import and Export Fair Complex (Canton Fair Complex). More than 1020 exhibitors from 30 countries gathered here to showcase their latest products and Innovation results.

One of the exhibitors is LANXESS, the world's leading supplier of specialty chemicals. The day before the exhibition (November 29), LANXESS held a press conference at the Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou. Mr. Su Han, Vice President of LANXESS Inorganic Pigments Business Unit, and LANXESS Materials Protection Products Division introduced the latest developments of LANXESS, their development direction in China and new products exhibited at this China Coat respectively And new technologies.

LANXESS presents a new color space for the world

One of the highlights of LANXESS at this coatings exhibition is the innovative new Bayer LeR® red inorganic pigment. This series of pigments rely on a new production process-"Ningbo Process". As a true innovation leap, the process has special advantages in terms of sustainability and pigment quality, and for the first time produces red pigments in a new color space. This process is being used for the first time in LANXESS's Ningbo plant, the world's most modern pigment production plant.

LANXESS inorganic pigments have always represented the organic combination of environmental responsibility, efficiency and quality. Adhering to this goal and 90 years of rich production experience, LANXESS has once again set a new milestone in the production of synthetic iron oxide pigments. Relying on the newly developed "Ningbo Craft", LANXESS can produce environmentally-friendly, unique high-quality iron oxide red pigments-"New Reds".

The new red pigments not only further enrich the tried-and-tested Bayer® portfolio, but LANXESS is also the only iron red pigment manufacturer in the industry capable of producing a full range of yellowish phases, providing a more comprehensive service for the high-quality paint and coatings industry. In addition to the classic Pennyman process and green alum process pigment series, the New Red series pigments from the innovative "Ningbo process" show a redder and yellower hue than other iron oxide red pigments currently on the market.

During a technical lecture held at 1:30-2:20 pm on Wednesday, November 30th, Mr. Stephan Spiegelhauer, Head of Coatings and Coatings Industry, Global Competitiveness Center of LANXESS Inorganic Pigments Business Unit, will take the "Extreme Iron Oxide Red Pigment "Red" as the title, a detailed interpretation of the new product and process.

In addition, LANXESS will exhibit Bayer's® color-enhancing iron oxide yellow pigments for coatings, including Bayer® 4905 LO, Bayer® 4910 LO, and Bayer® 4920 LO.

Bayer® Yellow LO (low oil absorption) series is the company's newly developed product series. Only a small amount of oil (resin binder) is required to wet the pigments properly, which will reduce the viscosity of the final coating formulation. Thanks to a special production process, the new Bayer® LO products exhibit stronger Newtonian flow properties, especially at higher shear rates. At the same time, the Bayer® LO series has excellent dissolution and dispersibility in the dispersing device, which is essential for reducing energy costs and producing stable and uniform coating products.

The main advantages of LANXESS iron oxide yellow pigments include pure color, good dispersibility, and easy integration into almost all paint and coating formulations.

"2016 is the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the LANXESS iron oxide pigment factory in Krefeld-Uerdingen, Germany, and the 20th year of LANXESS 'iron oxide pigment business in China. As the world's largest producer of iron oxide pigments, LANXESS Inorganic Pigments business unit will continue to use innovative and sustainable processes to produce high-quality products. On "Media Day", Su Sheng, Vice President of LANXESS Inorganic Pigments Division, Asia Pacific Mr. Rafael Suchan said: "These environmentally friendly pigments will help China's rapid development. "

Paint slow release technology

Another highlight of LANXESS at the 2016 China International Coatings Exhibition is the preparation of the Multi Next® product, which represents the pioneer of dry film biocides and the most innovative technology. As a premium and highly innovative dry film biocide technology, this series of products has better chemical stability, leaching performance, ecotoxicity, fade resistance and biological effects. The advantages of this series of products include: it can reduce the loss of dry film active ingredients caused by rainwater leaching, reduce the impact of coatings on the environment, reduce highly effective actives, and extend the dry film protection period.
